Information every solar RFQ should include

• Product required: PV connector or solar DC cable.

• Exact specification, including cable size or connector compatibility requirements.

• Quantity in pairs, pieces or metres, with any red and black cable split.

• Project and delivery location.

• Required delivery date or project schedule.

• Approved make, equivalent-product or certification requirement.

• Applicable standard and technical-document requirements.

• Project capacity, BOQ reference and any consultant or customer approval conditions.

PV connector RFQ checklist

For a PV connector enquiry, provide the electrical, mechanical and project-interface requirements rather than only a generic connector description.

• Required system voltage, including whether the project specifies a 1500 V DC PV connector.

• Required current rating and operating conditions.

• Solar cable cross-section and outside-diameter compatibility.

• Connector pair, individual connector, contact pin or accessory requirement.

• Male/female quantity and polarity split.

• Ingress-protection and applicable IEC or other project-standard requirement.

• Approved make and mating-compatibility requirement.

• Datasheet, certificate, test-report or sample requirement.

Do not assume that connectors from different makes are interchangeable. State the installed connector make and exact interface requirement so compatibility can be checked before quotation or supply.

Solar DC cable RFQ checklist

• Cable cross-section: 4 sq.mm, 6 sq.mm or 10 sq.mm.

• Single-core requirement and red/black colour split.

• Required quantity for each size and colour.

• System voltage and installation application.

• Conductor, insulation and sheath requirements stated in the project specification.

• IEC 62930 or any other mandatory project standard or approval.

• Required drum or coil packing and preferred drum length.

• Delivery location, required date and whether split deliveries are acceptable.

• Datasheet, certificate, test report, warranty and traceability-document requirements.

Choosing 4 sq.mm, 6 sq.mm or 10 sq.mm cable

Cable size should not be selected from project capacity alone. The engineering decision should consider current, route length, allowable voltage drop, ambient temperature, cable grouping, installation method and the applicable project standard.

If the cable size has not yet been finalised, share the BOQ, design current, approximate route length and installation conditions for technical review. Tarneo will not substitute a cable size without an approved project requirement.

Documents to request and verify

• Current product datasheet for the exact offered model or cable size.

• Certificate scope that clearly covers the quoted product, model and size.

• Relevant type-test or routine-test documentation where required.

• Manufacturer or authorised-channel evidence when the project specifies it.

• Packing, marking, batch and traceability details.

• Warranty terms and stated exclusions.

• Sample availability and approval process before bulk procurement.

Commercial details that prevent quotation delays

• Billing and delivery location.

• Price basis, applicable taxes and freight requirement.

• Required lead time and delivery schedule.

• Payment-term expectation.

• Quotation-validity requirement.

• Inspection, pre-dispatch or customer-approval requirement.

• Whether the quantity is firm, budgetary or subject to final BOQ.

Please share the product datasheet, applicable certification, lead time, packing, warranty, payment terms, freight and quotation validity. BOQ/project details are attached.
